Simon's story
"I started my career in estate agency in 1981, working for a small independent firm in Bookham and Leatherhead. For the next 13 years I gained considerable experience working in and managing large branches in towns around the Surrey area, developing in the process, a fascination and subsequent passion for selling properties in the surrounding villages.
I found that the majority of estate agents just did not appreciate the difference between the marketing requirements for properties in the villages as opposed to the towns and treated everything in the same way. I made it my personal challenge to understand the village property market and endeavour to provide their communities with the individual professional services that they deserve.
As a result, I founded Simon Bance & Company in 1994, choosing Chobham as the ideal village location to base ourselves. As a company, we then continued to expand our knowledge of the diverse styles and ages of property that make up each village and are now established as one of the most respected independent agencies in the area, only employing the very best local staff.
We have learnt not to sit on our laurels and continue to embrace new technology and employ quality people to ensure that our service and performance cannot be surpassed.
We all enjoy the area and environment in which we live, which is only possible in the knowledge that we haven't treated anybody unfairly or unprofessionally."
